The Department has remained focus of activities with regard to the development of Urdu language. The language spoken in Kashmir is one of the oldest in India. Schedule 8 of the Indian Constitution recognizes it as an official language. Thousands of Kashmiri people's social, political, and ethical beliefs have been upheld and fostered by the language. The language used in Kashmir truly expresses their opinions, ideas, and emotions. In addition to producing several researchers and intellectuals who are currently contributing to society in a variety of ways, the department has taught hundreds of students. The Department of Kashmiri provides students with a variety of courses, including general electives and skill-enhancement courses in Kashmiri. The department teaches students about the history of the Kashmiri language, its syntax and morphology, its prose and poetry, and the value of translating works written in the language. The department has been awarded affiliation by the University of Kashmir to conduct the Postgraduate Program in Kashmiri in 2020.

Introducing MIL courses to students who are ignorant of Kashmir
To introduce new skill classes in Kashmiri language that are focused on the workforce.
Establishing a translation unit to support the Kashmiri language and provide high-quality instruction at all teaching levels
